Lyrics

Wanted Man

The wisdom of a man too confused to hold his frown

Archaic views slow me down

and the indoctrinated youth of this broken town

Too slow before it's started

That life just ain't for me

Somebodies money in his pocket

Ain't saying he's a wanted man

but there's a gun in his hand

cause he's an honest chap

When there's a clash of culture

His boy's fed to the vultures

now he doesn't wanna go back

In this frame of mind

we feel eachother's hurt

But you, son

You got yourself a problem if you like trousers

and not a bit of skirt.

Too slow before it's started

That life just ain't for me

Somebodies money is in your pocket

And on a holy throne they sit, cherishing their ways

days of old, tales of past and from their perch cannot be swayed

In thy kingdom there is freedom and the time is ever present

to resist the bold romance of the fate that we endeavored

Too slow before it's started

That life just ain't for me

Somebodies money is in your pocket

If Only You Knew

Thought I'd seen lightning in a loaded gun

Fought off the violence 'til the colours run
And you hope that they heard you pray
Cause it's best that this goes away

And if only you knew
Yeah if only you knew

The fallout reminds me I'm a broken soul
If all this is timing, who's in control?
With all due respect it'll break your heart
You'll only regret when it falls apart

And if only you knew
Yeah if only you knew

Though I'd seen lightning in a loaded gun
Fought off the violence 'til the colours run

And if only you knew
Oh if only you knew
Yeah if only you knew
If only you, if only you
If only you knew

Two Step Sally

Dancing two step Sally

on a Saturday night

She put down the phone

cause she wanted to fight

She said

that she wants to go home wasted

So we brought back a bottle

and we swallowed a few gulps

Asked me for a borrow

She wanted to have some fun

We rang the guy I know

Throw me a beer

Let's watch the world pass us by

Oh it was on the night

That you held me for the first and the only time

Then she told a lie

She said I got a good idea

For me and you to disappear

Dancing two step sally

It's the time of your life

Won't put down the phone

'til the angle's right

She said

that she wants to go home wasted

So we knocked back a bottle

and a voddy or two

Went on 'til the morning

cause she wanted to have some fun

with the only guy she knows

Then she pulled me near

and whispered words I'd been meaning to hear

(you gotta tell me)

Oh it was on the night

That you held me for the first and the only time

Then she told her lie

She said I got a good idea

For me and you to disappear

When will I see you again?

She said just ring me at ten

So I gave her a bell

and said I'd call her witheld

I didn't want this to end

I didn't want this to end

It was on the night

It was on the night

Fate of Home

a lonely foreman on a short shift

unwatered grain

in my mind i'm californian withstanding the rain

its in his eyes

the same routine

view from his castle is a one way street

no throne

no throne

she said she wants a better future

it’s easy to tell

a master of the kama sutra

he's under your spell

but with a sigh

the days turn weeks

same old place and a few dirty sheets

alone

alone

we're castaway

dreaming of a million miles away

we don't wanna stay

but how do we escape the fate of home?

his teacher tells him a short story

loaded with crime

but hes got no money in his pocket

a buck ninety-nine

so in a daze that boy turns thief

but he buys a cell

and his dreams they turn to stone

oh no

we're castaway

dreaming of a million miles away

we don't wanna stay

but how do we escape the fate of home?

she wants a future for her daughter

forever she’d ask

but that little girl has her fortune dictated by past

we're castaway

dreaming of a million miles away

we don't wanna stay

but how do we escape the fate of home?

(home x4)
