"the thrilling Manchester, UK-based alt-pop band MYOTO, [Two Step Sally] is a powered up single that shows much potential with mysterious vocals."
"hugely talented bunch, I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more from them in the coming years."
”Emphatic storytelling in the form of punchy, melodic indie-rock”
Formed in early 2020, Manchester four-piece Myoto are bursting with energy and emotion, with lyricism that communicates honest working-class insights to life in modern day Britain.
Co-founders and master sound engineers Andy McCoy and James Melville linked up with former professional wrestler Rhys Mason after posting an ad for a singer on the website joinmyband.co.uk in early 2020. Conor McKeown - who holds a tenured background in TV and Radio - joined later on in the year through mutual friends and answered the band's call for a drummer. The full Myoto line-up was rubber-stamped following a night of drinking Baltika lagers at Wetherspoons.
Summer of 2022 was spent recording singles at Studio Alouette (Confolens, France) with producer Joe Woolfe.
Their time in France inspired a frenzied writing period and the remainder of the year was spent crafting the upcoming releases for 2023. Their upcoming year is focused towards distributing new releases and playing live shows nationwide.
With a series of successful gigs in Manchester and the North West, Myoto saw off 2022 creating a buzz around their energetic live performances - working with esteemed brands such as dock10LIVE, Scruff of the Neck and Salford City FC.
"...it's seamless how their music can connect you with emotion. If you pair that with their visual content, you really can see this going to the next level." [Jason Forrest, The Milk Bar]
